Enable Southwest is a non-government, not-for-profit organization working in the NDIS space to support individuals and their families living with disability, aging and short or long term illness. This team works from a refurbished building in central Bunbury. They approached Totally Sound with a very specific problem. They were trying to host ‘Microsoft Team’ style meetings in both a Training Room and a Board Room simply using laptops. This meant a lot of having to speak very loudly across each of these rooms to allow the laptop microphone to pick up a speaker’s voice. They were looking for a streamlined system in each room that would effectively amplify voices anywhere in the room.
The Shure MXA910 Ceiling Mount Microphone Array was the perfect solution for this problem. It delivers naturally intelligible speech and widespread coverage, all with no mics or cables getting in the way. It is a very impressive product that has onboard IntelliMix digital signal processing, capturing every voice and delivering consistent sound even when participants move or stand up. A big advantage of this approach is that participants do not need to worry about where the microphone is, they just need to focus on the conversation.
As part of the system upgrade, the Totally Sound team also installed Intel NUC small form factor PCs and Shure P300 conferencing processors in each room. An AVer CA520 conference camera was also installed in the boardroom.
We recently checked in at Enable SW to see how their new system was going. Here is what Robert Holmes, CEO, had to say…
“The AV gear you installed has been working really well. I use the Board room quite often and the ease of use, clarity of sound and visuals is infinitely better than anything we had in the past. Thanks for the recommendations and excellent installation.”
