September saw the crew head down to Katanning, where they learned what cold really is! Southern Dirt Techspo is a technology and innovation event for the agricultural community and associated industries. It included a Technology Conference focusing on the future of farming, business innovation, internet platforms and apps, Genetics and Controlled Environment Agriculture. The event also encompassed exhibits, field days, workshops, drones and machinery and livestock technology. There were also plenty of networking opportunities and a gala dinner. You did not have to have an agricultural background to appreciate the impact technology is having in that world and and the crew came back with many an interesting story about what they saw.
The event was held at the Katanning Leisure Centre, where the Ram Sale Shed was converted into the main plenary and gala dinner venue. In addition there were five smaller breakout/workshop spaces.
