CinesfestOZ in it’s 14th year was an amazing event to be part of. It is a busy festival, with 270 film and event options throughout Bunbury, Busselton and Margaret River.
A Diverse Range of Experiences on offer
The Festival encompasses so many facets of the Film and Entertainment industry. With everything from free community film screenings through to ‘In conversation dining experiences’ to accompany films.
There was an extensive schools program, IndigifestOZ, a Cinesnaps short film competition. There was live streaming of the event for those who could not attend. It all finishes with a big Gala Night of celebration, where the winner of the Film Prize is finally revealed.
The team were super busy..
The Totally Sound team working closely with Dean and Sharon from Lomax media were busier than ever this year. If feels like the festival grows in leaps and bounds each year and with that comes an increase in technical requirements. It is a multi venue event with it’s own unique challenges….and we love it.
The team implemented some new initiatives this year. The first of which was to use an optical fibre backbone at Orana Cinemas, simplifying the cabling infrastructure. At the Esplanade Hotel the crew used Q-Lab to automate playback, vision and lighting.
The Gala Night – Finally the winner of $100,000 Film Prize is announced.
The film prize recognisees excellence in Australian Film making, and this year’s winner was Nitram, Directed by Justin Kurzel, Written by Shaun Grant.
